The nightlife in Bucharest is one of the main attractions in the capital of Romania. Maybe Bucharest is not a fancy, fun city by day but it sure is all that by night.
In Bucharest you can find many bars, pubs and clubs, cheap booze and nice party people. As I travelled around Romania, I think I can say that nightlife in Bucharest cannot be surpassed by any other city in Romania. The diversity of clubs and music are a great tourist attraction. The “heart” of fun in Bucharest is the old city centre where every Friday and Saturday you can choose from tens of partying establishments, all crammed up on the narrow streets. Starting with 11 PM, as you pass by the bars, you can hear the music as all the parties are getting started.
Here, in Romania, people party until morning. Often, in weekends, at 4-5 AM , you can see people walking home after a hard partying session.
Nightlife in Bucharest is pretty cheap
Some clubs and pubs ask for a small fee at the entrance, others don’t. In some, only the girls can pass free of charge. However, the prices are not high in the old city centre, the entrance fee is under 5 Euros. However, don’t forget to change those Euro into lei (Romanian currency) as the clubs are not allowed to receive other currency than the national one. There are also no queues as there is no invitation system. You want to go in, you go in and that’s it.
The drinks are also pretty cheap. A beer can be from 2 Euro to about 4. You can buy a cocktail with 4 or 5 Euro. Now, a really important piece of advice: If you are in Bucharest and you have no Romanian friends or guide to take you to the clubs then I strongly recommend to go in the old town centre and party there. It is the safest zone to be at night at it is crowded even after midnight. However, if you are in the company of some Romanian people you can explore other great clubs and pubs in Bucharest.
